Our bakery, conveniently located inside the Caltex service station on Lakes Road, is locally owned and operated and produces all manner of baked products.
We provided hot and cold food, barista coffee and have options to sit inside or outside, whilst enjoying a snack or meal, or simply taking a break from your journey!

Darren, the Head Pastry Chef at Bakes on Lakes, is a celebrated culinary expert with multiple “Best Pie in Australia” awards under his belt. He also claimed the title of Gourmet Pie winner at the prestigious Great Aussie Pie Competition.
Beyond baking, Darren serves as a pit master judge, showcasing his versatile skill set. His talents have been recognized by notable figures, including creating cakes for the Premier of Western Australia. Additionally, Darren holds a Guinness World Record for assisting in building the largest chocolate crackle, adding another sweet accolade to his impressive career.

Samantha, the Head Baker at Bakes on Lakes, brings a wealth of talent and accolades to the bakery. She has won the Royal Show Competition for both pastries and bread, showcasing her broad skill set.
Samantha is also a Bakery Industries Award winner for her exceptional pastries and a medallist at both the Great Aussie Pie Competition and the Bread Competition, solidifying her reputation as a top-tier baker in the industry.
